19 oktober 2009 – Buffalo Technology lanserar idag en rackmonterad version av sin professionella NAS-lösning TeraStation™ III. Med lagringkapacitet på 2, 4, 6 eller 8 TB, spridd över fyra separata diskar, erbjuds en snabb, säker och effektiv nätverksansluten lagring för små och medelstora företag.
Storleken på enheten är 1U vilket minimerar utrymmeskravet och inbyggda funktioner för effektiv energihantering gör att den inte drar ström i onödan. De dubbla nätverksuttagen och Real Time Replication gör det möjligt att koppla in ytterligare en enhet och där spegla all information, i realtid, för ytterligare datasäkerhet och redundans. Nätverksuttagen kan även trunkeras.
-Behovet av lagringskapacitet ökar ständigt vilket snabbt kan bli ett problem för mindre och medelstora företag. TeraStation III är byggd för att vara snabb och enkel utan att kompromissa med funktionaliteten vilket gör den till ett utmärkt val för såväl proffs som företag utan en dedikerad IT-avdelning, säger Paul Hudson, Sales Director Northern Europe på Buffalo.
Hastigheten för dataöverföring är på upp till 60 MB/s och det finns stöd för RAID 0, 1, 5 och 10 för att sprida ut lagrat material över flera diskar. Hot-Swap gör det möjligt att byta ut krånglande diskar utan driftsavbrott. Enheten har två USB-portar på baksidan vilka kan användas för att ansluta extra diskar, anslutning av en UPS eller användas för en skriva då enheten kan agera skrivarserver för hela nätverket.
Bland funktionerna märks stöd för Active Directory, kvothantering på användarnivå och automatisk kryptering av lagrat material. DLNA-certifiering ger möjligheten att strömma lagrat material till anslutna mediaspelare och Buffalo WebAccess ger enkel tillgång till allt material över Internet till datorer eller en iPhone. Administrationen hanteras via ett enkelt och intuitivt webbgränssnitt.

Buffalo TeraStation III finns tillgänglig på marknaden från idag och distribueras i Sverige via Actebis och Ingram Micro. Alla modeller levereras fullt poppulerade med fyra hårddiskar och garantitiden är tre år. Cirkapris för respektive storlek är:
2 TB – 8400 kronor exklusive moms
4 TB – 10900 kronor exklusive moms
6 TB – 13450 kronor exklusive moms
8 TB – 17600 kronor exklusive moms
