Buffalo Technology launches compact NAS device for SMBs -UK
The TeraStation Duo combines ease of use with high capacity performance

19th June 2009 – Buffalo Technology, a global leader in the design, development and manufacturing of storage, wireless networking and memory solutions, today announces the launch of the TeraStation Duo. This is the company’s first compact dual NAS drive aimed at small businesses.
Designed specifically for SMBs, the TeraStation Duo is a feature filled NAS device that comes in 1TB or 2TB capacities. With built-in support for essential business applications such as Active Directory, Apple Time Machine and an in-built WebAccess feature which allows for remote access to the unit via PC, Mac or iPhone via any internet connection.

The TeraStation Duo is small and quiet, but provides all the features necessary to store, secure and back-up large amounts of data.”
To ensure that data remains safe at all times, the TeraStation Duo comes with RAID 1 and hot swappable functionality that automatically powers down a drive in the unlikely event of failure, allowing it to be safely removed and replaced without the loss of any data or the impact of downtime.

Features like Hot Swop, Real time Replication and Quota Management make it ideal for businesses looking for reliable, cost-effective, redundant NAS storage.”
For businesses conscious of their environmental credentials, the TeraStation Duo includes a power management system to conserve energy use. The unit automatically powers up and down with connecting clients, reducing energy consumption by up to 66 per cent and lowering CO2 omissions. A controlled fan with a thermal sensor and a high cooling capacity chassis also reduces noise, making it perfect for the small business or home office environment.
